2022 Commonwealth Games, Birmingham: Nigeria's Women's 4×100m Relay Team inspired by Tobi Amusan win Gold plus set new record

Inspired by Oluwatobiloba Ayomide 'Tobi' Amusan, who is the current World Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games 100m Hurdles champion, Nigeria has won the Women's 4×100m Relay Final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.

The Nigeria Women's 4×100m relay team finished ahead of England and Jamaica who finished second and third respectively.


The Team Nigeria Women's 4×100m relay team which comprises of Tobi Amusan, Rosemary Chukwu, Favour Ofili and Nzubechi Grace Nwokocha emerged victorious with a new African record of 42.10 second.

Previously, at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA, the mark of 42.22s was set by Team Nigeria just few days ago.


This Team Nigeria Women's 4×100m relay team have gone ahead right inside the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham to become the first Nigerian women's relay team to clinch Gold at the Commonwealth Games.
